Me and Mr. Darcy

Hello there,

Hello there,

My name is Kaveta Roshny Monique Gajadhar. Loosely translated it means this;

Poetic illuminating French woman that keeps elephants .

Hello there,

Well, not quite but close enough. Let me break it down for you:

Kaveta = poem in Hindi
Roshny = light in Hindi
Monique = chic French name and my mother’s idea of being original, which worked in our Indian world but not so much in Holland.
Gajadhar = elephant herder in Hindi

I have a lot of names but my loved ones call me Moon , Mo, Niekje. You can call me Genius, Diamond or even Queen B. I’ll respond to anything if it is lovingly directed.

People say I’m funny and I wholeheartedly agree. I really am .

I am a Suriname born, Dutch raised and Indian rooted woman with a zealous plan to make the world we live in more beautiful, and nudge you toward owning your coolest most fabulous deserving self.

Let’s continue.

I crush  on Hercule Poirot, feast on mango chutney and catfish, survive on novels from the nineteenth century and crave meaningful conversations. I love praying, candle lit dinners and articulated handwritten letters.

Blatant confession time.

I’m expecting, right about now, to meet the man of my dreams. A splendid bearded manly man up for the wonderful opportunity of loving me and my exquisitely cute sons in as many ways as possible.

I want to get married really badly because I believe I’ll look good in a wedding dress. Also, my need to be the center of attention and dance the night away in the name of love, is my idea of bliss.

And yes, I am fully aware of the part where a successful marriage doesn’t equal a Pinterest picture perfect wedding. I know, I know. It’s all the stuff that happens afterwards. No need to mention this. You’d be preaching to the choir.

Moving on.

A momma, an affectionate family gal, a clingy friend and a Trekkie. Moi aussie. My day and night job are as amazing as they read. I am a ‘femina universale’. An artist  turned entrepreneur, morphed women’s and children’s rights advocate who loves helping people turn their creative aspirations into a reality.

I have a BA in Visual Communications and Fashion Design, studied at the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague and The Amsterdam Fashion Institute in the Netherlands.

After having worked as an illustrator, conceptual artist, and designer in fashion and design for over 11 years, I decided to deviate from the set path and use my creative talents in a more socially meaningful way.

I worked 6 years for a nonprofit organization that helped people start their businesses in developing and upcoming economies. Meeting people from all over the world, learning about so many beautiful cultures and what is important in these communities, provided me with insights into what motivates a person to be and do good.

So, I founded Me and Mr. Darcy in 2017, a creative concept development & storytelling business.

My goal is to bring more authenticity and heart to the table by combining my creative talents with my corporate experience, and help you do what you love doing most.

Next to writing children’s books , collecting pretty things, and managing a creative business, I share my life experiences as a mother and woman to raise awareness and trigger positive change. In short, MAMD brings progressive conversations in the name of love .

My desire to incite love, create more beautiful things and inspire you to be your best self runs pretty deep. I take pride in my gift for creating narratives that tell your truth. Consider it one of my biggest blessings.

I love learning. I love teaching. I love picking a beautiful brain, and I feel humbled and honored when people pick mine.

A bucket full of creative genii,

Monique
